General Questions

How do I switch from one theme to another?
Go to the album you want to change and click on "Edit Album" At the top are 3 tabs "General" "Album" and "Theme". Select the "Album" tab and where it says "Choose a theme for this album" select the desired theme in the drop down menu. You can have different themes for different albums in your gallery.

How do I change the color scheme of an album?
Go to the album you want to change and click on "Edit Album" At the top are 3 tabs "General" "Album" and "Theme". Select the "Theme" tab. Scroll down and look for "Color Pack" Select the desired color in the drop down box.

How do I change the highlight photo for an album?
Go to the photo you want to make the highlight and select the "Make Highlight". On the next page select which album you want to make this image the highlight of.

How do I stop people from downloading my photos?
Your gallery has several security features to protect your images built in. See below about setting permissions. However, the very fact you display your images online means that it is already downloaded to your visitors browser cache. This can't be prevented. The best way to protect your images is to watermark them with your copyright. One watermark is included in your gallery and you can also make and upload your own.
Can I use Gallery Web Host if I have a Mac? Yes - Your gallery is entirely web based so all you need is a browser and a connection to the internet.

How many photos can I upload at once?

As many as you like. Your gallery comes with several methods for uploading images into the gallery and your certain to find one that works best for you. You can upload entire folders of images if you want.

What is Gallery Remote and where is it?
Gallery Remote is an application that you download and install on your PC It allows you to drag-n-drop files from your hard drive directly into Gallery Remote and upload the pictures in bulk to your gallery.

How do I add a frame around an image or thumbnail?
1. Go to the album you wish to add picture frames to. This effects only albums and all the images in that album.
2. Right click and select "Edit Album" (you can also select the options" link then "Edit Album"
3. On the next page where it has the following tabs: General, Album, Theme. Click on the "Theme" tab.
4. Scroll down where it says:
Album Frame (View Samples) - - Frame used for Album Thumbnails
Item Frame (View Samples) - - Frame used on thumbnail page for images
Photo Frame (View Samples) - - Frame used when viewing image
Color Pack - - This is the color scheme of the album
5. Select the desired frame and color pack. When selecting frames besure to
match the color you are using.


How do I watermark my images?
When uploading your images you need to use the "From Web Browser" method. At the bottom of the page after you select images to upload Select your watermark from "Choose a watermark to apply to the images you add." menu. To watermark individual images go to the image you want to add a watermark to and select "edit image". Then click on the watermark tab. At the bottom select what versions of the image you want to watermark. Generally all but the thumbnails. Click apply watermark.

I don't want everyone to see all my albums in my gallery, what are my options?
There are two methods to limit who sees what in your gallery. The easiest is to assign a password to a particular album. This way only those you give the password to can view that album. This is great for wedding photographers as their clients can then give the password to people they want to view images in their wedding album


The second method is to require visitors to register before they view a
particular album. The registration system requires the visitor to enter a
valid email address in order to register.


How do I assign a password to an album?
When you create a new album go to the "General" tab and at the bottom of the page enter a password in the password box. To assign a password to an existing album, go to the album you want to protect and select "edit album". Under the "General" tab go to the bottom of the page and enter your password in the password box.


What are permissions?
Permissions are a way of assigning who sees what in your gallery. You can set a particular album in your gallery to where nobody but you can view that album, everybody can view the album or only registered users can view that album. You can also assign permissions so that everybody can view a small version of the image and only registered users can view the full size image.


How do I set permissions?
Go to the album you want to set permissions on. On the sidebar (menu) click on the "Edit Permissions" link. By default all new albums are set so quot;everybody" can view everything. Your gallery has three user groups - Admin,
Registered Users and Everybody. To remove the ability for everybody to view the original image go to where it says "Group Permissions" and select  the "View Original Version"  from the drop down menu next to "- Everybody"- Then click "Remove".


Working with your images


How do I move an image from one album to another?
Go to the image you want to move to a new album and select "Move Photo". At the bottom of the page select the album you want to move the image to from the drop down box. Select move.

How do I arrange the order of images in my albums?
Go to the album you want to rearrange the order in. Select "Rearrange Items" for the menu.  Here you are presented thumbnails of all the images in
that album. Just click on the image you want to move then click the location you want to move it to. Select save.

How do I select an image to be the highlight of an album?
Go to the image you want to use to highlight a particular album. From the menu select "Make Highlight" . From the drop down box select the album you want this image to be the highlight of.  Click "Highlight".

How do I delete an image?
Navigate to the image you want to delete and click "delete photo" from the menu. The image you selected will be check and you have the option of
deleting other images at this time by checking their thumbnail. Click
Delete.
